Jaipur to Bikaner Car Rental – Book Your Cab for the Camel City

Bikaner doesn't get as much attention as Jaipur or Jaisalmer. Which is honestly a shame. The old city has a density of havelis, temples, and narrow lanes that takes most people by surprise. You go expecting camels and come back talking about the Junagarh Fort. It's that kind of place.

Most people coming from Jaipur either take the overnight train or drive. Booking a Jaipur to Bikaner car rental gives you the flexibility the train simply can't. Your schedule, your halts, your pace. If you want to stop at Fatehpur Shekhawati or spend twenty minutes photographing a dhani on the highway, nothing's stopping you.

Our Jaipur to Bikaner taxi covers the route daily. Families, solo travellers, business trips, group pilgrimages to Karni Mata. We've done them all. Every cab is AC, checked before the trip, and driven by someone who's covered this highway more times than they can count.

Our Jaipur to Bikaner cab service doesn't have fixed hours. 4 AM departure, noon start, late evening, doesn't matter. Call us, tell us your date, pick a vehicle, and the booking is sorted. Shristi Holiday Services manages everything from there. You just have to show up.

Jaipur to Bikaner Distance and Drive Time

The Jaipur to Bikaner distance by road is around 330 to 340 kilometres. That's the Jaipur to Bikaner distance in km on the standard highway route via Sikar and Fatehpur, roughly 335 km give or take depending on where in Jaipur you're starting from.

Drive time is somewhere between 5 and 6 hours on a normal day. The road via NH 11 through Sikar and Churu is the most straightforward. It's a decent highway, manageable traffic outside of city stretches, and passes through Shekhawati country which has its own visual interest if you're paying attention.

Some travellers take the route via Nagaur. It's a different path but not significantly shorter. Our drivers will pick based on what's moving well on the day.

Same Day Jaipur to Bikaner Trip – What's Realistic

A same day Jaipur to Bikaner trip is doable but it asks something of you. Leave by 5 AM and you're in Bikaner by 10 or 11. That gives you a solid 4 to 5 hours, enough for Junagarh Fort, a walk through the old city lanes, lunch at one of the Bikaneri sweet shops, and Karni Mata if it's on your list.

Heading back by 4 or 5 PM gets you to Jaipur by 9 or 10 at night. It's a long day and the distances add up. But people do it, especially those visiting Karni Mata temple or combining Bikaner with a broader Rajasthan road circuit.

Honestly though, if you can stay one night, the early morning at Karni Mata and the camel farm visit outside the city make it worth it.

Jaipur to Bikaner Taxi Fare and Cab Price

Vehicle Type Model Seating Approx. One-Way Fare

Tourist Attractions in Bikaner

Junagarh Fort is the main reason most people come and it justifies the drive entirely. Unlike most Rajasthan forts, Junagarh was never conquered. It was built in 1588 and the interiors, the Anup Mahal, the Phool Mahal, the Ganga Niwas, feel genuinely lived-in rather than preserved for display. The collection of World War I aircraft on the grounds is something nobody expects.

Karni Mata Temple at Deshnok is 30 kilometres south of Bikaner and is one of the most visited pilgrimage destinations in Rajasthan. Dedicated to Karni Mata, the temple is home to thousands of rats that are considered sacred and are fed and protected by temple authorities. It sounds strange before you visit. Most people who go once end up going again.

Lalgarh Palace was built by Maharaja Ganga Singh in the early 20th century as a tribute to his father. The red sandstone structure is a mix of Rajput, Mughal, and European architectural styles that somehow holds together well. Part of it functions as a heritage hotel, part as a museum, and the shri Sadul museum inside holds an impressive collection of photographs and royal memorabilia.

National Research Centre on Camel is about 8 kilometres from the city centre and is genuinely interesting even if you're not particularly into animal research. Bikaner is historically a camel country. The centre has different breeds, a small museum, and camel rides. It's not touristy in the usual sense, more educational, which makes it worth the half hour.

Bikaner Old City and Rampuria Haveli Street is where the old city lanes are worth wandering without a fixed plan. Rampuria Haveli is the most photographed but there are dozens of merchant havelis from the 18th and 19th centuries with detailed sandstone carvings, latticed windows, and painted facades scattered through the neighbourhood. Get there before 10 AM before it gets crowded and warm.

Gajner Palace and Wildlife Sanctuary is 32 kilometres from Bikaner on the Jaisalmer road. The palace sits on a lake and was once a royal hunting ground. Today it's a wildlife sanctuary with blackbuck, chinkara, and migratory birds in winter. The lake at sunset is one of those quiet moments that makes a Rajasthan trip feel complete.

Best Time to Visit Bikaner

October to February is the best window. Temperatures are manageable, mornings are cold and clear, and the city is comfortable to walk around in. November and December see good crowds without being overwhelming. January brings the Bikaner Camel Festival, a two-day event at Junagarh Fort with camel races, camel dances, folk performances, and a fair that's worth planning a trip around specifically.

March to May gets warm fast. March is still okay, April starts getting uncomfortable, and May is simply too hot for a relaxed visit. Some temples and indoor sites are still worth visiting but extended outdoor plans don't hold up well.

June to September is monsoon season. Bikaner sits in a semi-arid zone and doesn't get heavy rainfall but the heat and humidity together make it a difficult time to travel. Most tourists avoid this window. Wildlife at Gajner is more active post-monsoon in October but that's not enough reason on its own for most visitors.

For first-time visitors, November through February is the answer. January specifically for the Camel Festival.
